Topic: Transforming Workplaces into Classrooms: An Indian WIL model for Working Professionals

This presentation examines BITS Pilani's Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP), a distinctive model of work-integrated learning for working professionals. In successful operation for over 45 years, this model has enabled over 135,000 working professionals from India and abroad to remain relevant and grow in their careers. Characterised by active industry participation, this model leverages the workplace as a primary learning environment, with technology-enabled delivery of learning content, labs, and assessment. With industry relevant curricula and instructors with expertise in both academia and industry, the pedagogy focuses on integration of theory with practice. In this session, the presenters discuss the model and its features in detail, and its potential to address several challenges faced in contemporary higher education.
