Trevor teaches in disciplines such as theological reflection, education, and business. He is a convenor for the Working Life and Learning Network for the European Society for Research on the Education of Adults (ESREA).

He has published in journals and various book titles as well as courses on Udemy. He is an active member of ASET, ACEN, WACE and Advance HE.

Sonia was previously Science Academic Lead at Curtin University. She has led institutional strategic projects on curriculum renewal focusing on quality enhancement and establishing an institutional quality framework for WIL. In 2020 she led renewal of the Mining Engineering degree in partnership with industry and the Minerals Council of Australia. Designing and delivering interdisciplinary WIL subjects to Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) students has been a key part of Sonia’s role in recent years.

She is Immediate Past President of the Australian Collaborative Education Network. Sonia has led or been a member of the lead team for 11 national projects on WIL. She has published extensively on industry engagement and WIL and is an Associate Editor for the International Journal of WIL. She works collaboratively with an international consortium of WIL researchers.

Chris Jones has been programming computers since he was 10 years old, and after years in industry started his own software company that developed solutions in fields as varied as event photography, aviation, hydroponics and logistics. In 2017 he moved into teaching at Pearson College London, where he heads up modules on entrepreneurship, strategic management and technology. As entrepreneurship tutor he sees students perform work integrated learning as both the learner and the founder of the business.

Chris has been experimenting with different ways to integrate real world business experience into his teaching. He has been shortlisted in THE awards as “Innovative Teacher of the Year”. He is also working on new technology solutions to promote better integration between businesses and students, especially in the remote working world that seems to be immerging post covid-19.

Per Assmo is Professor in Human & Economic geography at University West, Sweden where he is the Programme Director for the master’s programme in work integrated political studies. He also holds a position as Extraordinary Professor at University of Western Cape, connected to the department for political studies. He has since the 1990’s conducted various R&D projects in Eastern and South Africa.

Per’s current research work primarily includes WIL oriented cooperative projects with municipalities in Sweden focusing on various aspects local societal development. He is also participating in the development of WIL as an academic research and education field at University West, and with international partners.
